SCGS Jamboree 2011 Pictures - Post 1

...
I bought a new Nikon Coolpix S4100 on Thursday before Jamboree (the previous Nikon Coolpix S300 froze up with a "lens error" earlier in the week after only 6 months and 350 photos), and did not practice enough with it, so many pictures I took were fuzzy or poorly lighted.  So I have shots of only GeneaBlogger activities, it seems!

1)  Friday afternoon, in the Marriott "blogger lounge:"  Genea-bloggers (from left) Dick Eastman, Terri O'Connell, Tonia Kendrick,.and Patricia Stannard:

2)  Friday afternoon, in the Marriott "blogger lounge:"   Donna Peterson and Lisa Alzo.

3)  Friday afternoon, at the SCGS Blogger Island:   Corey Oleson and Denise Spurlock:

4)  Friday evening, in SCGS Blogger Island:  This was the Geneabloggers Radio show in progress - Thomas MacEntee (with the big green ball necklace) is on the far right talking on the phone while monitoring the chat board);  Around the table from Thomas:  Donna Wendt, Kim Von Aspern, Amy Coffin, Sheri Fenley, ????, Ron Arons, Donna Pointkouski, Elizabeth O'Neal (standing), ????, Kathryn Doyle (with laptop), Terri O'Connell, Elyse Doerflinger, Daniel Horowitz (standing), ????, and Lisa Alzo (reading the chat board).

5)  Friday evening, at SCGS Blogger Island (during the Geneabloggers Radio show):  different view, showing the same people, with Caroline pointer (on left in back of Thomas) and Diana Ritchie (on right, in back of Elyse Doerflinger):

6)  Saturday morning, at the Blogger Summit II:  Thomas MacEntee (moderator) at far left, and panelists (left-to-right):  Kathryn Doyle, Elyse Doerflinger, Dick Eastman, Joan Miller.

7)  During the conference at SCGS Blogger Island:  a video screen showing Twitter feeds from genea-tweeters.  It also showed the live streaming videos on Saturday (they stole the Blogger Island chairs to seat people there).

8)  Saturday, at SCGS Blogger Island:  faces seen here are Caroline Pointer (left front), Cheryl Palmer (standing on right), Steve Webb and Gini Webb (seated at right).

The Blogger Island setup was two large tables in the northwest corner of the Convention Center, outside the exhibit hall.  The tables had power strips available for computers.  The tables were supposed to be for bloggers only, but many people sat at the tables to eat lunch or snacks, and the Popcorn social was held in the area on Friday and Saturday nights.  The area was not ideal for using a computer - there were bright windows on the west and north, which created glare during the day.  Susan Kitchens made some neat "Reserved for Geneabloggers" signs for Saturday and Sunday.

Love your pix, Randy. I missed the radio show due to the Friday nite banquet; sure looks like a good time.
